SHOULD WE PRAY OR START TO OBEY?
SHOULD WE PRAY OR START TO OBEY?
The headlines in the Philippines today states, Church asks: Pray, fast for RP's future. In a nation of prayers but short of Deeds of Love that correspond to the True Teachings of Christ, is it not better to ask first and then answer, SHOULD WE PRAY OR SHOULD WE NOT FINALLY START TO OBEY?
This article attempts to make an intelligent answer….
I think it is too bad to get to prayer only when things go wrong!
I think we should first ask ourselves, Why would things go wrong? Can wrong be prevented? Can the right path and the right decision be pre-determined? And can the wrong path and the wrong decision be avoided?
For the well initiated of the Word of God, HIS WILL, LAW AND WAY are but three names for the same thing.
That means that His will is His Law and His law is His will. His Law is His Way and His way is His law. His will is His way and His way is HIs will. These three are but the same thing.
So, if we wish to know what His path or way is, all we have to do is to know His Law, which is the most well-known to us, to wit: You shall love Jehovah [the Eternal Father] your God above all and your neighbor as yourself.
Now, this is an issue of government -- God's government. God is the Lawgiver. He is the King. And we said, Your Kingdom come, Your will be done.
That means, Your Law and Way be followed.
Now, the priests are saying "we cannot see any concrete, acceptable solution at this time,". What is that? Blind guides finally admitting that they are blind?
NO offense intended but it seems that we are too much overly battered and deceived to remain silent IN THE NAME OF RESPECT TO OUR CHURCH AUTHORITIES.
Christ's authority -- His word -- must prevail over His servants'.
And what does Christ say?
"Repent or you shall all perish!"
We have sinned a lot. Gambling is a great sin -- it breaks the whole Law of God and all the 10 commandments that magnify the Law. There is not love in gambling except selfish devilish love. If the Church wish to be honored again as Christ's, then she must focus on fighting this sin -- right in where the battle takes place, namely: in the minds and hearts of the people.
She must be clear and unrelenting before her members who are gambling lords, no matter what -- that is, even if they will stop their secret "tongs" to the priests, bishops and cardinals!
The Bible is very clear: Salvation and eternal life is only for those who repent, that is, stop committing sins and start obeying God's Law, following His way.
Now, the question: Are our members and are our leaders repenting -- abhorring the sin of gambling?
The sin that makes us poorer and poorer day after day?
If they are not, and this crisis is caused by it, then, why pray?
Better stop the cause, meaning: better obey first and then, the curse will cease. And then, there will be no more need to pray for salvation. If we don't get into trouble, then, there is not any need of salvation. Our prayer will be then of thanks.
As a nation, we are called to pray "Lord, take all these crises from us."
Question: Who caused this crisis in the first place?
Answer: We by our sins and vices! Our lusts, our greed, our selfishness, our pride!
All these bad attitudes and behavior causes many ill effects that are now accumulated!
Ask for salvation, yes we may. But after that? We will do it again?
Huh, we are like the person who keep asking to God, "God please remove this cholesterol in my bloodstream -- so my heart disease, high blood pressure will get healed."
So, God did what he asked.
After that, the person returned to his former ways: Putting in more fats and cholesterols into his body!
Again, when he had a mild stroke, he asked in pain, "God, please, remove all these fats -- these cholesterols that are clogging up in my veins causing one of my veins near my brain to burst and cause my left body to paralyze."
Then, God answered him, "Alright, My son, it is easy for me to do it. But don't you think you are not stupid to see Me here busy taking out what you will always put in back afterwards? Would it not be better to OBEY FIRST BEFORE YOU PRAY?"
